Update: Although the site is currently struggling with the traffic, the game has now been released for FREE. You can download it from here until the 21st May.

Epic Games has been heroically filling our time in quarantine with free games to download on their launcher, and today is no exception. Rockstar’s hit game GTA 5 will be free to download this afternoon at 4pm (GMT), and will last until the 21st of May. Should you get it during this time (and we recommend you do), it’ll be yours forever.

Whilst the announcement has not yet been made, it was leaked on their twitter account, and screenshots have been provided to us by users confirming this.

Despite being 7 years old, the game still boasts a significant player base, and the game is still being updated with new content. While we know almost nothing about the rumoured GTA 6, the 5th installment should have no problem in continuing to grab our attention until it’s eventual announcement. And what better way to spend your quarantine than robbing banks and blowing up tanks?
